Mel believes that an intense practice comes not from doing complicated poses but in holding basic poses to get the maximum benefit from them. This is the kind of practice that students can expect from her class.
She was introduced to yoga in 2004 through a Bikram practice and became a certified Bikram yoga teacher in 2009. In 2013, she studied under Bryan Kest for Power Yoga. She has taken workshops with Joan Hyman, Chuck Miller, Mark and Joan Darby, Phillip Askew, Briohny Smyth and Dice Iida-Klein and Tiffany Cruikshank.
Mel teaches Hot and Flow classes at yoga+.
